Frankie's Journal

[ go back ]

My brother's name was Frank but everyone called him Frankie. I came across some of his journals some time ago and was so deeply moved by them that I feel compelled to share.

The journal was written in the winter of 1974-1975 when Frank was seventeen years old. He used a variety of pens, made his own drawings (some of which I duplicate here), and wrote in a fluid manner. It reads as if it were written last winter rather than 26 years ago!

I don't think he would mind my sharing his words and wisdoms with you.

Here are a few quotes:

"It's better to be pissed off than pissed on!"
  my old man

I just read an article on the U.S.'s new weapons and warfare. It's sick. I really believe that there is going to be a major war within the next 15 years.

The best way to
    understand
       Heaven
Is to
    live through
       Hell

You can't fully understand the yang of something unless you see the yin of it.
